Please, please pray for our little girl.

It is past midnight on Saturday night (Sunday morning) and we just received some very difficult news. We have some new information regarding the area where A lives and it seems that the month that children in this area turn 4 years old, they are immediately transferred to an institution. Since A is going to be 5 next month, it looks like she has been in an institution for almost a year now. Recently another family visited their new daughter in this institution. (Their daughter is beautiful! And better yet, seemed well taken care of). However, it seems that the children who do not walk are cared for very differently here. We now have good reason to believe that she is confined to a crib and very neglected. Our hearts are hurting tonight. We certainly had not pictured that she was in a wonderful place, but we were hopeful that things were not as horrible for her as it most certainly looks like they are. Will you please pray urgently with us? There are seven things listed, so if you cannot pray for all, maybe you could choose one to pray for each day of the week? We so need your prayers.
  • Pray that God will sustain A's life until we can get there. Pray that somehow, her little body   will be sustained and she will not have organ damage.
  • Pray that A will find favor with her caregivers and that they will feed her adequately, give her kind attention and loving touch.
  • Pray that missionaries will be led to her and will love on her this summer.
  • Pray that she will somehow, in God's power, be moved to a good environment.
  • Pray that our paperwork will be expedited and found favorable in her country and they will grant us a QUICK travel date. Pray that the officials would make an unheard of exception to the rules and help us get her home sooner than the rules would normally allow. (I felt clearly led to pray this way tonight when Rob and I prayed over this new information--Our God can do anything).
  • Pray for God's provision for the rest of the needs of this adoption to be met.
  • Pray for God's mighty Holy Spirit to hover over her and minister to her in the supernatural way that only He can.
Thank you to all of you who will stand with us as we call on our Almighty, All Powerful, All Knowing and Ever Present God to save this little girl's life.

Gliding over that bump... in Jesus' power!

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!  Amen."
Ephesians 3: 20-21

We are getting to LIVE Ephesians 3:20-21 my friends! My recent post about our "bump in the road" was met with some curious questions. If you know us at all, you probably know that Rob and I are very open (okay, sometimes too open!). So, you ask, why was I so vague about what the "bump" actually was?!  Well, we know, without a doubt, that God has placed us on this adoption road. We also know that it is not the only God-ordained road. If He has our hearts, God has called us ALL to something--and He calls each of us to many different things during the different seasons of our life. So,  for us, right now, it is our hearts desire to bring this sweet little orphan home, and we have asked God for the provision to do so.

What that doesn't mean is that He has called everyone who reads this blog to financially invest in our adoption. We desire to be very careful regarding this subject. So that's why we chose to be vague. We are standing on the truth that God will provide the financial portion of our adoption in His time and in His way, through those He has called to give (okay, I am trying to stand on that truth--I definitely have my moments of questioning and panic).

God worked a miracle this past weekend. I had misread some paperwork, and we suddenly needed a large (did I say LARGE?) sum of money to pay our first agency fee. God provided, (through a precious famly who is firmly set in their obedience to Christ)  TWICE the amount we need at this point. We are humbled, thankful, excited, affirmed, amazed, and can't. hardly. get. our. head. around. this.

I must totally reveal my humanness here. I would so LOVE to have the $40,000 dollars in the bank right now to completely fund this adoption. But if we did--I would not be living in faith like I have been forced to do. Why does God have to force me to live in faith? Because I am weak--but praise God from the highest hilltop that His power is made strong in my weakness!

"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made
perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my
weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

A bump in the road...

As you drive along most roads, you will encounter bumps along that road. If you have good shocks, you may barely notice the small ones, while the large ones may be no more than just an annoyance.

We have hit a bump in our adoption road. In my humanness, it feels like a huge, steep hill that feels impossible to scale. However, with the power of an Almighty God as our "shocks" we continue to move forward.  He is able and we have watched as He has shown Himself powerful on A's behalf so many times in the past few months. So, we will choose to stand firm in faith and watch to see His amazing power at work!

Will you join us in prayer as we humbly ask Him to work powerfully in this "bump?" He knows our need and He hears His children pray. And besides... He loves this little girl even more than we do.
